Off with their heads!

So for the past few weeks, I've been completely paralyzed with what to do with these mini Cowboy sculptures. Late last night it came to me, "Off with their heads!", and I started chopping off limbs.

Some too will be sugar skulls, or animals of some sort. I'm wicked pumped now! I may not get them all done for the Boston Arts Festival, but at least they now have some forward momentum.

I also was able to get a few more fine art prints glittered and embellished, so they're ready for mats and sleeves for the festival. Which by the way is on the Christopher Columbus Park, downtown near Faneuil Hall on Saturday and Sunday, September 10-11, from 12-6. It's a juried artists only show! Good stuff!

7 yolks down, 6 more to go

Got seven of the thirteen yolks painted yesterday. Plan to finish up the remaining six this afternoon along with all thirteen hats.

Then it's on to the faces. Yee haw!!

Another productive night in the studio!

Bring me more snow days!! This is the second night in a row that I've been able to blast out multiple new works. I can't wait to see what comes out next.

Sneak Peek Post

Here's your one and only sneak peak until the final photo shoot. Some of you might have seen the other dozen or so detail pics I had up earlier today as a "one day preview post". mallard Cowboy Float Progress Update

I've made some progress on the saddle and bridle. Work will slow a bit in the coming two-weeks as I need to prepare for the start of the Spring Semester. Still lots to do on this piece, but I'm happy with how it's going thus far.

So after the big opening, I had a little time yesterday in the studio to get some painting done on the mallard. Note, the orange of the saddle and straps is not final, it is just the underpainting. But for the most part, the rest of him is done.
